Writing to Help Animals
I love animals and I love to write, so it’s especially rewarding for me when I can combine the two. In addition to supporting animal causes, I have volunteered at local animal shelters and for several years accompanied my cat Luna to offer pet therapy at a New Jersey nursing home. Also, I love to visit the horses at a northern New Jersey stable and will soon volunteer time there.
I’ve assisted in cat rescue efforts and staunchly support spay and neutering programs. (Our current three cats, as well as a cat we had years ago, were rescues.) While living near Seattle from 2003-2007, I volunteered at a ferret shelter and also wrote articles for its monthly newsletter, Paws It. I also wrote articles to help launch the New York City Pet Guide.
